Road racing began with Cookstown in Ireland, finishing in 5th place. Marcus was the first newcomer. He then went to Tandragee, where he put it on pole position, with a time that would have had him 11th in the superbike qualifying session.

He went onto win 4 races, 5 podiums and 6 pole positions. He also achieved a class lap record at Armoy.

Then, a 10mph tip off crash at Faugheen ruined his championship hopes. This was a devastating blow after working hard to close the gap on the overall championship and leading the Southern Championship. But, he managed to finish 2nd in the Ulster, the Southern Championship and the overall Championship.

He also competed at the Southern 100. In which, five out of the six races he finished in the top 10. With a best finish of 8th and a best lap time of 2.19.4.

Finally, he went on to the Anglesey Grand and won the main Anglesey Grand Race.

In 2021, Marcus bought a new BN6 R6 and GSX-R 1000. He completed the full season at Jurby finishing 1st place in the Clubman Championship. He also finished 3rd in the Centre Championship (1000) and 3rd in the 600.

Marcus also competed in the UK. With the Wirral 100, Bemsee and NG Road Racing bringing home a few trophies for podiums.

2021 was the year Marcus got his national licence to go road racing.

The year Covid-19 put a spanner in the works. Marcus was ready to compete with Thundersport, which unfortunately didn't happen. He did however do six rounds of Jurby, finishing runner up in the Clubman Championship.

Marcus's first race was in April at Jurby. This was a double header and his first day went great. On the second day Marcus crashed at around 100mph at a 5th gear right kink and damaged some ligaments in his ankle. What an introduction to racing.

In May, Marcus chose a different approach of slow and steady on his second race meeting. He then won his first Clubman race despite the wet conditions. He then purchased a new 13S R6, which was more of a race bike with proper suspension, rather than the 2CO R6 he started with.

Next was Anglesey, to compete with the Wirral 100. Marcus won the Junior Open at his first UK race meeting.

His final race of 2019 was with the Wirral 100 again at the Anglesey Grand.

2018 was the year Marcus' race journey truly began. He bought his first race bike in June, a 2006 Yamaha R6 2CO. This was the basic track bike he did his first track day on. This was at the world famous Jurby circuit on the Isle of Man in July.

Marcus has ridden bikes his whole life, starting with riding a PW50 around his back garden. Then he moved onto bigger MX bikes and trail bikes, but had never competed. He did another few track days on a 2CO R6 before getting his race licence in October.
